I am wondering how many interested persons attented the Airport Commission meeting, and if they learned something new. I was unable to attend because I am a lucky Canuck; writing this piece from New Port Richey, Florida.

For interested Taxpayers the Airboard Board will hold its monthly meeting on March 1/07 at 7:00pm at the Airpor Terminal Building on the second level. These meetings are open to the public and should be attended my folks who have issues with the current operation of the airport. I would suggest to bring written submissions with your ideas if you can,as the formal agenda does not always allow for the inclusion of unannounced information during the meeting.

DODGE I want to thank you for your comments re: Colpoy Bay Water and my previous membership as a FOTA member (Friends of the Airport) which you noticed on my personal profile.( I resigned in 2002) Many of us were never totally satisfied with the lack of progress over the years by the operators to turn the Wiarton-Keppel Airport into a viable business operation. It is true that in a perfect world a different funding formula for such a facility should be in place.On the other hand, if only one MEDIVAC aircraft can land at the Airport (after the runways have been cleared of snow)to transport a seriously ill patient from our area to Toronto or London for a life saving procedure, then the present costs can be justified.

A very good question indeed.With all the wild dreams from pipelines to massive developments to retirement communities to rumours of a conference centre..are we aware of where all our money is going?While reading the Amabel Property Owners Association newsletter, I came across a well written article by a local taxpayer incensed at the flow of money to keep this wild political dream afloat.
