Sauble Beach Winterfest 2010 at the XC Ski Trails

A short film of the wonderful winterfest party hosted by the Sauble Beach Cross-Country Ski AND Snowshoe Trails featured hotdogs, marshmallows, hot apple cider and the opening of their brand new snowshoe trails with snowshoes graciously provided by Suntrail Adventures. Sauble boasts the best classic Nordic ski trails in South Western Ontario; I don't know about that, but they certainly DO host the best community party in town, always welcoming, and a great time had by all.

For more on the official opening of the snowshoe trail, check out my earlier film of the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Still Waiting on Summer

Cloudy today, 19C, the high a point higher and looking at rain in the weekend forecast; hard to believe sandfest is just a few weeks away! Anyone else remember that summer that was so so hot, you couldn't buy a fan in any stores within 50km of the beach?

Sauble Sewer Costs Increase

The consultant to the Town of South Bruce Peninsua for the Sauble Sewer System has recommended using conventional gravity sewer system over the original proposed Clearford system.   The primary motivation appears to be to bring basement septic service to some properties in the DCA; even though there are few if any existing basements (due to high water table) in the DCA.  The cost for this change adds over $1,000,000 dollars to the cost of this project and will result in severe traffic problems due to the requirement to dig up and replace the roadways.  Why is our Town Council supporting this idea?  Why should many have to pay for the few?  This will bring the estimated cost per property to $27,680  ($2,500 / property more than what was originally estimated) plus hookup costs.  If you agree that this is outrageous, please write your councillor and town administration to voice your concern.
