Canadian Hurricane Centre

Posted by garym on September 18, 2003 - 5:01pm

The Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC) is asking for your observations on hurricane Isobel:

Like Hazel in 1954, the remnants of hurricane Isabel are expected to cross Central and Eastern Ontario on Friday and through Northern Abitibi on early Saturday.

As storms of this nature are infrequent in this part of Canada, this presents a scientific opportunity to collect observations on a finer scale than usual to provide a better database for studies of this storm.

Full instructions for setting up your own collection station and reporting Hurricane data can be found at their Special Volunteer Observation Network.

The MSC is also running a slick Canadian Hurricane Centre with latest forecasts, maps, bulletins, photos and news on the progress of Isobel as it blows up the eastern seaboard.
