Outdoor Market Guide

Posted by KeeMay on June 18, 2004 - 9:30pm

One of the fun things to do while visiting SBP is to go "marketing".

Tuesdays
Keady Market

The biggest in the area, this market is located in Keady, of course. Rumour has it that in the midst of the tourist seaon, as many as 25,000 visitor go to this outdoor market where you'll find just about anything you can imagine. The indoor session of the market is at the arena.

Wednesdays
Port Elgin crafts market

In July and August, vendors sell handmade arts and crafts items on the beach in Port Elgin.

Thursdays
Elmvale market

According to inside information, this market also opens on Sundays

Fridays
Outdoor Market at ReStore

This is a new market. How to get there? Turn right on County Rd. 11 about 4 km east of Home Depot in Owen Sound.

Crow's Creek Market
A new farmers' market featuring locally grown vegetables, this market is located at Adamsville(10 minutes north of Wiarton on County Rd. 9)

Saturdays
Oliphant Market

Held at Oliphant Women Institute, this is a very nice indoor-outdoor market. It is a fund-raiser for the women institute.

Sun Magic Organics
This is another new market. Support local farmers, go visit them on Hwy 6 near Miller Lake.

Sundays
Handicrafts Market

An outdoor market located on Hwy 6 about 5 minutes north of Wiarton, this market opens from May 2/4 weekend until Thanks Giving.

Well, these are all the markets I know. Have I missed any?

My appearance

Hi Bub,

At the moment, I am at the Oliphant Market and Handicrafts every week. Starting first week of July, I will also be at Keady Market weather permitting.

3 days of market is enough for me at this stage. I have to spare some time to go to the beach with the kids. I am determined to get my sun tan back after living in Canada for 9 years.

sunscreen please!

Tan?? TAN?? whats that Ive been in Canada for *cough cough* 46 years and all I ever do is burn with my Celtic skin.
