Tap Water
got a link to an email that was sent to the Sun Times. It addresses the water from Wiarton issue better than any I have heard yet. I don't know if this has been posted by anyone else yet but it bears enough fruit to share again if it has.
I will post the link and print it out as well. It really makes interesting reading. No wonder our little
willie is white. He has been drinking Wiarton water from the bay.
Is tap water really that pure?
Contaminants of all kinds have been dumped into the source of our drinking water

On Monday evening at the Owen Sound city council meeting a councillor suggested we all get rid of our bottled water and drink tap water only.
In the early 1950s Agent Orange was used to kill the weeds on all the local sideroads. The empty Agent Orange barrels were loaded on barges in Owen Sound harbour and then sunk in deep waters off Colpoy's Bay. This was standard practice for a number of years.
The tank range in Meaford disposed of their ammo in Georgian Bay in deep areas such as Thompson's fishing hole.
At the old landfill site east of Annan there are numerous streams running directly into Georgian Bay. The filtration system? Bales of straw placed in the streams.
Not so long ago on both sides of the Owen Sound Harbour and the east side of Georgian Bay there was a highly industrialized environment.
In the old days solvents, paints, used oil, used byproducts and anything else unusable were all dumped out the back door. Years of lack of understanding and abuse have created a phenomenal environmental problem. The soil in all these areas is highly contaminated. These products are constantly leaching from shore into Georgian Bay. Note the soil problem at the new health unit building.
Why is there no development on the east side of the bay offering awesome sunsets every night? Highly contaminated soil with an enormous price tag for removal.
There used to be a beautiful, useable beach at Kelso. But year after year it was continually closed because of overflow waste from the sewage system. Then we had closings because of geese and duck droppings. These contaminates are continually feeding into the bay.
After a rain or during summer months, when the tap is turned on there is the strongest chlorine smell. If the water is so pure, why do we blast it with chemicals?
Ten years ago my wife had a serious internal disease. After many tests and deliberations the internal specialist suggested trying bottled water. In three days the infection was gone.
So you turn on your tap. While you're at it, why not try a swim at Kindree's fishing hole on the Sydenham River?
