CRTC targets Sauble broadband

There's no actual timetable of course, other than Bell's 12th anniversary of 'three to five months' predictions, but at least we now know that the Feds have specifically fingered Sauble Beach for a share in that $650-Million slush-fund for rural broadband. No idea if my emails with Maxime had anything to do with that, but whatever the reason, one can dream of bathing in pür unfiltered multi-megabits and that day when all of Sauble gets with the twenty-first century!

Let's hope Bell won't backpedal on this one as this is a one-shot deal, the CRTC tap on urban subscriber service fees has been lifted and this current kitty of funding is it, all there is, all there's going to be -- if we don't get it this time around, that's all she wrote ... until the next miracle honeypot comes around, so maybe that's good reason to renew the nagging campaign, hit that Bell request form, taunt their tele-marketers, call them up directly (at 800-021-8400) and maybe even worth some points to re-prod Minister.Industry@ic.gc.ca or drop a note to Larry Miller, just so's they remember we're still here.

You could upload them a youtube video-mail too, only you can't because we don't have the bandwidth to ship it ...
