Reflecting!
I keep reading the blogs on this site and I am still trying to learn and get the feeling of what ist's all about. The contributors to this medium are all well educated folks who know how to express themselfs on specific political and other issues in the written English word.Unfortunately, it seems that you boys and girls appear to be shy and never express your true political opinion or conviction in your comments. Remember, it's not a crime in this country ( at least not yet) to express conservative thinking. It seem that you folks are trying to please everyone and everybody who reads your comments, including the gracious host of this page, garym. In my opinion, most of your comments leave me and perhaps others with the impression that this is a contest of who can write best and who is in perfect command of English grammar. It would appear that critical local political issues are not being addressed honestly and forcefully. This kind of attitude by the bloggers adds nothing to the dialouge and the challenges at hand in order to effect political change. I feel that garym wants all the comments to be effectively neutral so as to not upset anybody but at the same time please everyone.( I recall a comment by garym that he encouraged me not to forget Austrian Nazi sympathizers; He suggested that he wanted to get under my skin; I wonder to this date about the reasons for his comments and why?) Apart from garym's world, we all know that the real world functions differently. There is rich folks, poor folks and lot of real Canadians (other then Natives) who have to do nine to five for forty some years to hopfully retire comfortably with their own savings/pension plans and CPP/OAS. The stories of these folks never make it to the liberal Canadian Press, let alone to this blog or any other news outlet. I just know one thing for sure; These people never complain!
So you nice people who contributed and will contribute to this blog, please start thinking straight from the heart and try to be politically serious. If you have a problem with any political issue, local or national or with the actions of the SBP Council try to offer your well thought out alternative ideas to Council in person or hush up. You and I know that talk can be cheap. If in the end you find yourselfs that you were unable to change Council's opinions or that of the blog readers, then I suggest to stop complaining in writing and protest in person on the Main street of Wiarton in front of City Hall. I can assure you that you will get a lot of attention.
PS: Garym, please control yourself and try not to giver me your onsided political lecture again.I won't have the strenght to read it and absorb it.

how about reason
so I was not going to comment on this blog.but the devil made me to do it..who are you to provide this comment?.....you must not live in our town because we all know how much work has been done by people here as well in the council place to effect the changes we see as positive for our town...many times the comments here are explanations or disputes on interpretations...everyone here speaks their minds and sometimes the English is not so good...but it is speaking from their feelings and as long as they don't fabricate things or lie we can debate and discuss...this forum had effected change..so wherever you are..keep on smoking your dope. it must be good!!!!!
It does help
Waltieb; members of council do read these forums. I can't say for sure if it changed their minds but some of the articles have caused them to receive phone calls from their constituents. The forums supply information, seeds of thought that can grow. You have to admit that this site sheds a bit of light on the darkness that surrounds town events. Everyone can't attend council meetings. I haven't reached that golden age yet.
PS; I always wanted to mention that I really enjoyed the article you wrote on your introduction to Wiarton.

the beast unleashed
5 good reasons NOT to respond to this dweeb's rant:
1) One should never tease dumb animals.
2) Maybe, just maybe, he's the sanest man I've ever read.
3) If we inadvertently hurt his feelings, he may never write herein again. (I would then only be denying myself, nay the world, the shere joy that comes from the epiphany when one realizes that, yes there is at least one person in the universe who's a bigger loser than I.)
4)He just may be dangerous. Apparently, he was seen heading for Town Hall with a copy of 'Catcher in the Rye' hangin' outa his pocket, an autographed snapshot of Mayor Gwen on her Harley in one hand, and a copy of 'Bipolar Writing for Dummies' in the other.
5) The Sopranos, Season 4, Episode 5. Enough said.
Two reasons TO respond in this flippant manner:
1) I may get him to unwittingly share the name of this dude that's selling him that wicked dope.
2) I'm writing again! Never feed a fox fresh meat.
jethro who?
Jethro, veeeery interesting, but stupid, no? May be you should take life a little lighter, eh? Aufwiedersehn on se blog mein freund! By the way ist das an english article? Was is that with se beast? Are you calling me an Untermensch? Please take the time to write something with substance if you can so we all understand your message and see your political stripes. Otherwise your are wasting time reading this and time on this medium.
