Feet need to be kept hot!

(my second endevour;lost my first blog in cyber space)
I am surprised that after a recent flurry of pipeline blogs all serious dialogue on the topic appears to have evaporated. I could be wrong or perhaps I am missing something but I sense that instead of local politics the published blogs and information is more about kitchen issues and tasty recipes. Obviously this kind of writing attracts little criticism since we all enjoy good food. Hopefully meals can still be prepared with clean and safe water from a well. Keep those recipies coming; my life loves to cook.

I was wondering why the Wiarton Echo comments of March 7/07 regarding SBP council meeting of February 25th (Councillors walk out in protest) did not attract any commentary. I hope that the folks who have previously taken the time and made the effort to address the pipeline and other environmental issues fairly in this medium are not getting politically fatigues. It would be too bad if the politicians were to get a sense that the fire under their feet was allowed to be slowly extinguished. Allow me to suggest to the 'for' or 'against' taxpayers to regroup and keep fighting for what you believe is best for the community. garym's webpage is one of the best vehicles to do so.

The difference between fighting and dialog

I think there is a lot of us taxpayers who think the case has already been stated quite clearly by both sides with precious little real hard data being added to the mix, and that's where a site like this is essential because it records what has already been said, and lines it up with both sides of the story in a single stream -- google can't find one without finding the other!

Now I truly and fully expect there will be more real hard data to unfold in this neverending story, but until there is, I don't see where we've any need to scald anyone's ankles -- when leaving messages on an answering machine, one message is usually sufficient, and to leave a dozen only annoys; far from grease, in the real world, the squeeky wheel usually gets replaced!

I think we just need to be vigilant and, and here's where this site is maybe better suited, be quick to spread the word about any new developments among all the interested parties, so we're all working with the same data set, from the same page, so to speak.

Until such happens, though, it sure would be nice to see more postcards, histories, memoires, recipies, poems and all the 99.99% of the other stories that make up the make-up of this place :) -- for one thing, entertainments like these would keep people tuned to this channel, so when something actually does happen, the audience hasn't all wandered away.
