It's harvest season and Saturday night, and it's time for Chesley's Own Grand Ole Opry!

Barry Woodyard and the Grey Bruce Connection are back again to host another showcase fundraiser revue of our local Grey and Bruce County country music, as always with many new faces along side the familiar favourites. Proceeds as always will go to charity, this time to the Chesley Library development fund. You can't beat that.

So if CMT really just doesn't do it for you, and if you're missing songs that made sense and you've got a longing for some real honest home-cooked roots americana country music, then get yer frock and grab yer fella and get yourselves down to the Chesley Community Aud! If you don't already know who's on the bill, just take a peek at your local general-store window, I'm sure there's a poster there someplace.

For tickets and details, maybe directions too, call up 519.363.2312 or write robin.woodyard@sympatico.ca

Live from the Opry

Not the very best of recordings, but nonetheless, for those who missed it, or for those who want to recapture some of the evening, I have posted mp3 recordings of our Chesley Opry sets, free for the clicking.

The good news is the Opry sold out completely, the show was pure magic, and the Chesley Library director was very very pleased.

excellent musicianship

As a fan of "old timey" music, "As Long As I Live" has found a place in my iTunes library. Thanks for that!

May & Gary, why not organize an annual Sauble Opry as a benefit concert for a worthy, noble cause? (no pun intended).
