Property Taxes Raised 7% net for 2006
He does admit you will pay more but never says the net tax take is up.
18% + 3% = 21% minus mill rate drop of 14% = 7% net increase in collected taxes.
News Item From Owen Sound Radio News:
South Bruce Peninsula has passed its 2006 budget
Mayor Carl Noble says the municipal tax rate will drop by just under 14 per cent. He says the average assessment in South Bruce Peninsula rose around 18 per cent and real growth rose around three per cent -- which gave council the ability to cut the tax rate. But Noble adds you'll only pay less in taxes if your assessment stayed the same, noting that isn't the case for most property owners.

Where Noble comes from
Quite an interesting find, that states Mayor Noble finds single residential taxes are just fine, and where industries are overtaxed.
On the subject of future(now present) tax increases he finds that single family residential can afford to easily absorb and pay tax increases, while industry cannot. You can read more of his opinions by clicking on the link HERE

Sauble Nation
Time for Sauble Beach North to seek "Second Nation" status. It is high time that we Saublois get international recognition for our indistinct society. Bland is power! Let the blue flag fly even higher. Maybe even our own Sauble flag? Sauble Sunny ripping evil snakes from the dunes! Has Prime Monster Harper opened the door to full nationhood within the municipality? Just imagine.......we could give ourselves our very own federal water reserve (sic)......speaking thereof....anybody been down Scotch Settlement to witness all of the blue water pipes being set down for the "in house" water system on the Saugeen First Nation?....Seems they have the problem solved locally....what is the story?????? Maybe they could ship some water to their (newly) acquired waterfront at the north end...free trade between nations????
