A round-trip from Sauble Beach to Wiarton now costs nearly $6 in gasoline alone, and that's at today's price, it could be less tomorrow, but it could well be a lot more as the winter rolls on.

Commuting costs have doubled in just a few months and there's no sign of relief; many SBP'ers commute daily to jobs in Port Elgin and Owen Sound, not to mention regular and occasional work, shopping and doctors trips in and around the SBP ...

maybe we should start thinking about car-pools?

We're all in this together, and it's all up to us. If we stick together, help each other, just being neighbourly, we can weather it out I'm sure.

Nobody is going to show up here with a fancy cell-phone secure hail a ride system like they do down in NYC, and it's way too far to realistically bike-commute anywhere around here, but that doesn't mean we're stuck moving half a ton of steel just to ferry ourselves to and from work every day!
