Congratulations
At their meeting on May 20, trustees of Bluewater District School Board voted on keeping opened all the elementary schools in the Wiarton sub-group, namely Amabel-Sauble Community School, Hepworth Central School and Wiarton Public School.
Adopting suggestions by the schools' SCCs, the School Board came up with the following decisions:-
Amabel-Sauble Community School will be taken off the closure list. However, the School Board will continue to look for ways of reducing the operation costs. Hepworth Central School will continue to rent out the old part of the building to community partners. Wiarton Public School will only be closed if funding is available for building a new k-12 school in the community.
Congratulations to all three communities on the good news about their schools. 3 cheers for the SCCs and all the community members involved in the researches, discussions and presentations which help the School Board make wise decisions.
