Hi People, This is my very first Blog ever!

Well folks,  I am not from the area but I did spend a summer coming to Sauble almost every weekend that I could get away.    I hope to come back some day.  

I thought I'd post on the arts because I am involved in the Orpheus Choir of Toronto; we are performing a wonderful Christmas Concert this coming weekend, the 18th.   It's a bit of a drive from up in the Bruce...maybe some of you will venture down for the weekend!   http://www.orpheus.on.ca

This past summer I participated in The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation's Weekend to End Breast Cancer, it is a 60km walk; and together with 4,654 other participants, we raised a whopping 14.7 million dollars!!  It was a very exciting, challenging, and moving time.  My contribution was about 3K, which I raised mostly by holding a benefit concert.   I am planning on doing it all again next year ~ here's a link to my page for 2005!!  Kira's WTEBC page    I know this disease is among many that should have substantial support for research to end it forever, but this is where my heart feels I must focus and do as much as I can.  

We were really looking for somewhere to get away for a few days and do some snowmobiling over the Christmas holidays, so I had posted in the Chat room about this.  Does anyone know a good B&B and a place we could rent a couple of sleds for a couple of days??  Any help would be appreciated.   You can email me at wench1964@hotmail.com

PS - I just came back from seeing Polar Express ~ it is an OUTSTANDING film.  Had me in tears several times!!   I know I believe..

Helping with cancer

 it is great you put so much time and energy into

 helping with Cancer .God bless you. I lost my

 mother  to liver cancer a year ago.cancer is

now the leading causr of death. it use to be

 heart attachs.  Keep up the good work

Welcome aboard the Peninsular and by all means yes, do post your progress on your blog here, that's what it's for! To answer your question on sled rentals, though, I have to confess that I just don't know and I hope someone else does because it's the sort of knowledge capturing that a website like this is supposed to do :) Ditto for a good wintering B&B -- there are a number of B&B operators who beat the winter blues by hanging out here on the SBP, so maybe you can catch their attention in the chat-box some evening. You can also use the blindfold-and-pin method and look up a few on the chamber website (www.saublebeach.com) -- would be nicer, though, if we could find you a more personal contact from the membership here.

Did you have any particular area of the SBP where you'd rather be headed for a winter visit?
