Sauble Sandfest Baby Contest

Posted by KeeMay on August 9, 2004 - 5:13pm

Long preceeding Sauble Sandfest, the baby contest is in its 31st year. Since 1996, Amabel-Sauble Child Care Centre has been the organiser of the event. This year, the centre also ran the face painting booth.

Despite that the morning temperature barely reached 2 digits, anxious parents from near and far arrived early at the beach for the opportunity to show off their prescious babies. Out of a total of 33 participants, judges Jay Kirkland, Debby Arnold and Rachelle Barker selected 3 lovable baby boys and 3 lovable baby girls, who then competed for the titles of Sandfest King and Queen. The awards went to Jackson Perusini and Lyndsay Williams respectively.

The joint effort of volunteers and sponsors have made this year's Sandfest Baby Contest a success and painted wonderful colors on many faces.
