How can I advertise on the South Bruce Peninsular?

Good question, and a frequent question, and the short answer is our SBP does accept advertising, and it is affordable and effective.

You may notice that our SBP doesn't cram every page with graphic advertisements -- the truth is, graphic advertisements just don't work, they have a horrible clickthrough rate and the eye-tracking surveys tell us that people are very adept at ignoring irrelevent imagery on a webpage as they focus on what they came for, the text.

As a service to our advertisers, we don't run banner ads, and I feel sorry for those who may have spent good money on such ads on other websites. It doesn't work, folks, bottom line.

What does work is a simple string of text; people are drawn to text. Once we learn to read, it's virtually impossible to not read any words in our visual field.

For this reason, we chose to run our advertising through the Google Ads Network -- using GoogleAds, you bid on certain keywords and pay by the clickthrough, and you can pay as much or as little as you wish; ad rates start from about $0.05 with minimum orders of about $5, and that's advertising everyone can afford.

Does it work? Seems to -- in our 12+ years experience running websites, we have tried many advertising programs, and this one works: we aren't getting rich off our GoogleAd revenue, but it does pay all our webhosting fees that keep the SBP online!
