We have not had a very cold winter this year. Not cold enough for Georgian Bay to freeze all the way out. However, while driving along Balmy Beach and Big Bay yesterday, we did notice quite a few fishing huts not too far from the shore. I have never walked on the frozen lake before, and wonder if I ever will be brave enough to do so. I imagine it must be fun ice-fishing. It was not too long ago when it used to be part of life for people living up here.
