Larry blasts Bluewater ... again
It is very obvious to me and I assure you, many others in the community, that the BWDSB’s recent self-congratulating excitement over its so-called review, proved beyond a doubt that they still don’t get it. It continues to be the same old problem. It is time to quit the charade.
Jenifer is put in isolation (the alternative to Police escort off the premises) for fear of sparking a riot? "It’s part of the principal’s responsibility to make sure all students feel safe and supported while at school and really it’s about maintaining the culture within the building" being the official response; Peter Ferguson received legal papers forbidding him from taking his concerns to the schoolboard, and in Sauble a mother was confronted with semi-private comments lifted verbatim from her Facebook page and told she was required to bring her concerns to the official channels instead.
Meanwhile in other news I discover that other BWDSB schools do in fact celebrate Hallowe'en, without incident, without damage to the school culture, and the children, and the staff, in fact enjoy the festiveness of the ... ah ... festival, and their children get to play on functional band instruments. Go figure.
I wonder if I'm allowed to say that?
One thing I do know, y'know, is that it is very few the number of kids who seek to do damage to their summer camp premises, which is surely cause for wonder. There's that, and what the Geneva Convention says about the rights of prisoners to attempt escape.
