You'd have to be living under a rock not to know about Sauble Sandfest, the massive summer sun festival that transforms our little village into the Metropolitan City of Sauble Beach every 2nd weekend of August, and this year that means Saturday, August 7th from 9am until 11pm all over the beach.
What's happenin'?
Holy cow, you name it: hot air ballooning, classic cars, baby contests, pet contests, dunk tank, a world class sandsculpting competition, clowns, licorice watermelon and ice-cream eating contests (not at the same time), a tricycle parade, kids games, water games, sun, sand, swimming, tanning, beach volleyball, live bands ...
you get the picture.
For complete details, you can try the Sauble Beach Chamber of Commerce Website or just be there ... I'm certain you'll find your way around :)

The Sauble Lions are out in force manning the booths at Kirklands Valu-Mart and other strategic locations, making book on the year's premier beach racing event.
Yeah, maybe you think it's at the Speedway, and no, it's not the Irish Sweepstakes or the Kentucky Derby -- no sir, not a chance.
The Numero Uno race event of the year around here happens this year at August 29th at the top of the falls where the Sauble River meets Lake Huron ...
Sauble Lions Annual Duck Races
There's nothing quite like the thrill of seeing a front-end loader's load of rubber ducks set free en masse and the great rush of yellow down the Sauble Falls as they make their break for freedom in the great Lake beyond, or the spills chills and excitement as the expert duck-herders corral the critters into the chute where they will declare the winners taking share in $2700 in prize money.
The ducks are running August 29th.
and one of could have your name on it.
