"We’re going to have one hell of a party. One of the guys is going to bring some water from Leith and we’ll get some water from Ontario’s Leith and mix them together in a big silver chalice and pollute them with Glenfiddich.

"We’ll toast both Leiths and friendship everlasting."

Honest. It's like magic. Toss what you can into the big coin drums and help make it happen.

Stock up your pocket change and keep it on your dashboard: It's time for the annual Sauble Beach Lion's Club Road Toll-a-thon -- those yellow and purple vested road crews you see out across the main street all day today are specially trained Lions volunteers who will graciously turn all your spare pocket change into real positive community action.

Honest. It's like magic. Toss what you can into the big coin drums and help make it happen.

What's Canada Day without fireworks! This summer, Sauble Beach will once again host their fireworks display on the lakeshore between 2nd and 5th Street -- the fireworks will start at dusk (between 9:30 and 10pm) with a bandshell concert and all sorts of happenings on the main beach all through the day.

If there are fireworks at Colpoy's Bay in Wiarton this year, there's no mention in their calendar of events -- best to call the town office for information on that one.
