Steelback no more??

But ... but ... but ... didn't they just buy the speedway and all that jazz? but yes, it seems true, the company is in receivership, tho maybe not gone, certainly the spectacular fireball is but a smouldering ember

"On November 2, 2007, it was reported that D'Angelo had sold his majority stake in Steelback Brewery as well as D'Angelo Brands. D'Angelo will remain on board as chairman of the company as well as maintain a minority interest in the business. Jonathon Sherman, the son of Apotex founder Barry Sherman, who has provided significant financial assistance to D'Angelo in the past, is taking over. Later in the month, the insolvent company was granted court protection from its creditors..."
[ Steelback Brewery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ]

Burn too bright too fast too long? or a classic case study in how advertising can make a bad product fail even faster? You had to applaud the balls they got, but I tried it, and it was just another factory beer. Tho' so's Blue and Coors and they're still chuggin' so go figure.

Why is it so undreamable that the next Beamish should be homed even within 2000 miles of our home? I mean really, realistically, its hard to even entertain the thought, and why should that be so? Beer is beer, after all, its not rocket science, its been a staple since Neolithic times, so why is it so hard for North American breweries to wrap their heads around it?

I believe Steelback Brewery has closed it's doors. Poor Frankie D, where will he sing now? No listings for beer kits!
