Greenpeace protest.

The Greenpeace folks, while sometimes well intentioned are probably nothing but leftleaning, unemployed and well educated radicals trying to grab media headlines by way of some stupid and dangerous actions in the name of the environment, or what they perceive to be a worthy cause.
Radical social activism usually has a tendancy to backfire on the participants. Rarely do their actions result in positive changes for society as a whole. In many instances only special interest groups benefit from their activities.

Whether it be a group

Whether it be a group releasing lab animals, which could be infected with anthrax, rabies, ebola, hoof in mouth, athletes foot, because they are being experimented on, has the same effect as a dirty bomb in manhattan to those directly effected.
Blocking a highway which could be the fastest route to a hospital has the same effect and inflicting the damage yourself
Shutting down a logging road and telling a burly lumberjack who has mortgage payments due and a family to feed he can't go to work because we say so, is well... just stupid, he is carrying an axe for goawds sake.
telling a farmer that he is going to have to change his practices at his own expense, even though most have been proven to be enviromentally firendly as possible and humane to his stock, could make for long lines to by expensive imported food because they importers don't have to abide by anything.. ( what have you been feeding your cat and dog).
If a large corporation does an oooops and a the line of lawyers with class actions in hand invade the corporate offices it is the shareholders who usually suffer.
If I donate money to these organizatons so they can continue these (raids) actions then I am a shareholder and partially responcible for thier actions. I by donating have provided the means to the end.
If my life was impacted by these actions I would like to see a donors list and say anny up, you are responcible.
I believe these enviro groups are going to become more militant in the near future, I say this because now that the mainstream media is on board with global warming/ animal rights/ responcible enviromentalism and rock concerts are soaking up the share of the disposable income which would be normally directed to groups like this, they have to pick it up a notch to get back in the 6 oclock news so their "shareholders" are seeing the are getting some bang for thier buck, and solicit some new investors... Only enough money to go around and I think thiers is starting to dry up.
Think of it no differently than the TV evangilists, they have to one up each other now and then, Oral Roberts "if I don't get 10 million I will die" worked, I believe groups like greenpeace and PETA are reading from the same book.

Greenpeace Protest

you have probably read about the recent greenpeace protest over delivery of coal to the nanticoke generating station. three arrested, scores of police in boats and helicopters, etc. too bad the protesters weren't natives, there would probably be an entirely different response. two systems of justice is not right.
i have no problem with peaceful protest, but blocking rail lines, highways, and ships is not peaceful in my opinion as they almost always escalate to violence of some sort. my son read the article in the sun times and laughed at the name greenpeace ... he said it should be called green-terrorism.
