Or even FireFox

Or even better, for those bold enough to choose their own browser, you can go "download the FireFox(the mini Mozilla)":http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ for a slimmed down Mozilla that doesn't try to do _everything_ but just does what it does really well.

RE:chatbox

I would go a step further than what Gary has mentioned.Go to www.mozilla.org and download the newest free browser. It has Windows versions as well as Linux. It has built in pop up stopper, no need for third party pop up programs or disabling java script.Use both of them, and see which you prefer. The chatbox problem does not appear in mozilla, or its cousin Netscape. And remember..its free!,no spyware, noviruses no trackers.

"Advances are made by answering questions.
Discoveries are made by questioning answers."

Chatbox Troubles in Microsoft Explorer

Several people have reported problems using the "chatbox":/chatbox with the latest versions of Microsoft Explorer -- the chatbox shows a blank page for the script of the conversation and repeated tells them they are leaving and entering the chat.

the problem is MSIE default security settings

I don't use MSIE myself, so maybe someone can confirm or explain better, but this is apparently a problem with the _default_ settings for the Security Options under the MSIE preferences, and I've been told that you can get the chatbox to work if you set your security level to Medium-Low ... or was it medium-rare ...

The chatbox works by refreshing the conversation pane every 10 seconds, and MSIE default security does not allow for automatic refreshing of pages --- they allow you to download and install a mafia-sponsored virus, but they don't allow you to watch a page that needs to reload fresh content ... go figure.
