Peace brothers!
Since this is suppose to be a "Feel good" website only, I guess there is no real purpose in my continued participation. Thanks Gary for letting me say my say as long as you did. I hope I always conducted myself in a civilized manner without offending anyone. If I did, I regret that my thoughts were taken the wrong way. I wish you well in your future endevours in helping to build a better community; just don't be disappointed "if the world does not unfold the way you want it too."
Long live the SBP and Canada.

Veils,Niqabs and Burkas.
Elections Canada intends to allow Muslim women to wear their religious headgear during the voting registration process and in the voting booth. Again, in order to appease a minority group and show stupid political correctness, long standing Canadian traditions are being turned upside down.
I wonder whether or not I would be challenged by Canada Election officials, if I were to try to exercise my voting rights at the next Provincial elections wearing a"ZORRO" mask, hat and cape.

Life Sustaining H2O
Many scientists do not put political spins on environmental issues. A small group of such experts recently expressed serious concerns regarding the availability of clean drinking water for the global population.
Approximately three questers of the earth's surface is covered with water, albeit the biggest bodies of water are salty. Only about three percent of all water is drinkable, and most of this is frozen in polar caps and glaciers. Only a tiny fraction (approximately 3 of 1000 liters or 0.3%) is actually useful drinking water.

Mixed Member Proportional Election Reforms?
August 10th last, I tried to encourage folks into offering some of their thoughts on MPP. Dan O. sofar is the only member who took the time to post his comments on this topic.
It would appear that the October 10th referendum is not considered important enough to many area residents.
Looking at the sky, Sauble washooms and dead gulls seam to be of more interest then a proposed major change in the way we vote for our representaives.
The Citizen's Assembly on Electoral reform might just prefer that many people do not consider this to be a real political issue.

Mixed Member Proportional Election Reform?
Gary provided interesting information on a number of voting systems. Since the MMP question apparently will be part of the October 2007 Provicial elections, I was wondering how people in the hinterland feel about the proposed change.
I think such a change would be an interesting experience. We might even have to learn the art of governing with a " coalition" of political parties.

A million things not to do!
I am pleased that there is now a growing awarness and recognition in Canada and around the world that our globe is in the midst of an environmental crisis.
Scientists have been trying to get the politician's and our attention for years. Finally their message seems to be sinking in. While I believe that some of the projected doomsday scenerios are overdone, the fact remains that people around the world will need to start changing the way they live and consume. There is no doubt, that this will be a very difficult challenge, considering the potential negative effects on our industrialized economies. Will people be prepared to make the necessary life style changes and pay a price in real economic terms to start reversing the environmental damage already inflicted on our planet?

Happy Birthday Canada!
Let's blow out the birthday cake candles on Canada's 140th birthday and make a wish.
"Multiculturalism has to go. Start teaching Canadian history and everthing else new comers should know about this great country."
The Toronto Saturday Star on June 30th covered it all by asking "Who here feels Canadian?" -- I know that I do.
Long live Canada!!!!!!!!

You are right on.
Fire rescue.
Why did nine brave and courageous firefighters have to die to save property in a furniture warehouse in Charleston, South Carolina?
The major objective of the mission was accomplished after safely evacuating the only two employees on the premises. Thereafter the focus of the firefighter's efforts should have been to contain the flames as best as possible from the outside of the building and to try to prevent the fire from spreading to other properties. However, hindsight is 20/20.

Reflecting!
I keep reading the blogs on this site and I am still trying to learn and get the feeling of what ist's all about. The contributors to this medium are all well educated folks who know how to express themselfs on specific political and other issues in the written English word.Unfortunately, it seems that you boys and girls appear to be shy and never express your true political opinion or conviction in your comments. Remember, it's not a crime in this country ( at least not yet) to express conservative thinking. It seem that you folks are trying to please everyone and everybody who reads your comments, including the gracious host of this page, garym.
